Canoeing the Upper North Fork of the John Day
This slideshow is from an exploratory canoe trip down the North Fork of the John Day River from NF route 52 bridge to Dale in June 2013. This is a remote wilderness class IV (V) whitewater run that starts high in the Elkhorn Mountains of Eastern Oregon and descends 2400 feet over 41 miles.
